A composition rich in symbolism, encapsulating the propagandistic message of Rome’s triumph while remaining artistically compelling.

The reverse shows Nero in the guise of Apollo Citharoedus, gracefully playing the lyre—a fittingly evocative image, recalling ancient accounts that depict the emperor performing on his instrument while Rome was engulfed in flames.
