This ceremony included animal sacrifices and theatrical performances, which ran for three days and nights. They were held at the end of a saeculum (century) also determining the beginning of the next century. A saeculum was considered to last between 100 and 110 years. Ascertained celebrations during the Republican period took place in 249 and 140 BC. Then they were held in AD 22, wanted by Augustus, and in AD 88 by Domitian, as evidenced by this denarius. Antonia as Constantia standing facing, holding long torch and cornucopiae.RIC² 66 (Claudius).Antonia was the youngest daughter of Mark Antony and Octavia Minor (Augustus sister), and mother of the future emperor Claudius. So-called "Minor" to distinguish her from her older sister Antonia Mayor. In 16 BC dhe married Nero Claudius Drusus, who was the stepson of Augustus and brother of the future emperor Tiberius. Drusus died in 9 BC after the campaign against Marcomanni and Cherusci, and Antonia refused to remarry, deciding to raise her sons in Rome. She unfortunally outlived many of them.
