Norges myntbok is a comprehensive work spanning more than 1,000 years, in which the latest research across various fields has been reviewed and updated. Each ruler is presented with a biographical account that weaves together historical and numismatic facts, complemented by comments on prices and statistics.
To provide collectors with an accurate picture of coin values, considerable effort has been devoted to systematically reviewing, coin by coin, year by year, and variant by variant, the major international database CoinArchives Pro. By counting occurrences and analyzing their distribution across different grades, the most reliable representation of market price levels is obtained. In addition, realistic grading scales have been applied and adjusted for each coin type. Prices are listed only for the grades in which the coins are actually found.
The book includes extensive analytical discussions as well as newly written articles on attributions, interpretations of motifs, statistics, and quality distributions for various coin types, among other topics.
All coins are illustrated with enlarged and detailed images to enhance readability and understanding. Furthermore, all coin designs are described in detail, including inscriptions and punctuation marks. Special effort has been made to expand the descriptions of variants.
