The obol is the minimal bronze numeral minted by Vespasian which stands out here for its stylish, miniaturised bust that retains the physiognomic features of the sovereign. The falcon on the reverse with pshent crown is the pharaonic god Horus, son of the mystical marriage between Isis and Osiris.
