Very well-preserved drachm of Trajan, although of lower than average numeral size and weight, but perfectly centred and coated with a uniform original brown patina. The majestic laureate bust of the emperor on the obverse is matched by the animated reverse of the sovereign proceeding triumphantly on a quadriga at the pull of four strong and lively African elephants.
