AYT K T AIΛ AΔP ANTωΝЄΝΟϹ CЄB ЄYC Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Antoninus Pius to right, seen from behind. Rev. L ЄNΔЄKATOY Isis Pelagia, holding billowing sail and sistrum, standing right. Dattari-Savio 2669, 8560. Emmett 1590.11. Kellner, Alexandria, Pt. 8, 1 (this coin). K&G 35.360. RPC IV, 4.1053. A fine specimen with an attractive light brown patina. Light deposits, otherwise, Good Very Fine. From the A.K. Collection, Triton XIX, 5 January 2016, 448 (part of), privately acquired from Dr. F. Sternberg in 1988 and from the collection of W. F. Stoecklin. Ex Leu Numismatik AG, Web Auction 27, 9-11.09. 2023, lot 1297. Another Antonine drachm with a pleasing laureate bust of the emperor on the obverse and on the reverse, the well-known elegant Isis Pelagia with sistrum and basileion virtually sailing over the seawater towards Alexandria and the harbour with the Lighthouse. A much appreciated and repeated image that we have already encountered in the tetradrachm at number 262 in the collection, and which, in this specimen, is plastic and sharp in every detail.
