A coin of exceptional quality that preserves its original silvering; this is the only example of an imperial consecration coin found in Alexandrian coinage: AΦIЄPOCIC means ‘consecration’ and as such is undated with the intention of virtually indicating the year of the sovereign's death, between the 2nd and 3rd of his reign and that of his sons Carinus and Numerian.
