Athens seated left wearing Corinthian helmet, holding sceptre in her left hand and with her right holds a Nike handing her a crown; below throne, shield; in exergue A, referring to the first workshop of Alexandria mint; across field L H (date). A tetradrachm of splendid preservation and excellent centring with an incisive portrait of Diocletian on the obverse and the warlike and victorious Athena enthroned on the reverse, indicating the hard times of the active safeguard of the borders of the vast empire in which the Senior Augustus Diocletian Jovius was a master.
