Constantius I ‘Chlorus’ is the glorious Roman general of Illyrian origin based in Trier, was created Caesar by Maximian. He was the father of Constantine I the Great and as such the founder of the Constantinian imperial dynasty that ruled from 305 AD to 363 AD with six sovereigns. Extremely rare coin of valuable preservation, especially for its reverse with the bust of the child Harpokrates, a Hellenised Egyptian deity, shown here in its commonly known official version.
