Charioteer, holding reins in both hands, driving fast quadriga right; above, Nike flying left and crowning charioteer; in exergue, Skylla swimming right, holding trident and pointing a fleeing fish; EVΘ before. Rev. ΣΥΡAKOΣIOΝ. Head of Arethousa left, wearing sakkos, earring and necklace; four dolphins around; below, EVMENOV. Tudeer 48 (V15/R26); HGC 2 1334; SNG ANS 275 (same dies); SNG München 1060 (same dies). AR. 17.22 g. 25 mm. RRR. Very rare Syracusan signed masterpiece, with a fine style Arethousa portrait and Skylla iconography. VF.
