Everton Lodge No. 823 – “Jubilee 1860–1910” Past Master’s Jewel (gilt silver, 33.18 mm, 28.33 g).
In a burgundy leather fitted case, gilt-tooled to lid, by G. Kenning & Son, Liverpool.
A fine gilt silver and enamel Past Master’s jewel for Everton Lodge No. 823, suspended from its original olive-green moiré ribbon and topped by a textured gilt bar inscribed:
JUBILEE 1860–1910
The obverse displays a circular blue enamel border reading EVERTON LODGE No 823, enclosing a finely painted central scene of a tower with bridge and water (in the manner of a lodge “view” badge). Above the medallion is the Square and Compasses device in gilt.
Reverse:
The reverse is clearly engraved to the recipient, including:
“W Bro R. M. Cow P.M., P.P.G.S. of W”
and the key date line:
“INITIATED DECEMBER 1874”
Hallmarks and maker’s stamp are present near the lower area (as visible in the photo), consistent with Kenning production.
Condition: Very good. Enamel bright; painted centre well preserved with only light age speckling; ribbon with normal wear/creasing; gilt silver with light handling marks; fittings secure. Case with expected age wear.
