Gilt and enamelled metal jewel suspended from a pale blue silk ribbon with an upper suspension bar inscribed “STEWARD”. The obverse decorated with a heraldic shield beneath a crown, flanked by blue enamel scrolls inscribed “ROYAL” and “MASONIC”, the lower portion inscribed “INST. BOS”. The shield displays traditional Buffaloes symbolism including pigs and chevrons, executed in white and blue enamel. Plain gilt reverse with original horizontal pin fitting. Maker’s marks to the reverse.
A well-detailed and attractive Steward’s jewel, retaining good colour to the enamel and ribbon, with light wear consistent with age and use.
Condition: Very good, light surface wear and patina commensurate with age.
Period: Circa 1900–1925.
