A fine early Steward’s jewel for the 1919 Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution, the gilt and blue enamel bar reading STEWARD above a crimson ribbed ribbon. Suspended below, a crowned sterling silver and enamel medallion bearing the Institution’s name and date, enclosing a heraldic shield with red lion on white field surrounded by decorative white and blue enamel.
Reverse struck with full London silver hallmarks and the maker’s stamp G. KENNING & SON, LONDON, retaining its original fittings.
Condition: Very fine; enamel clean with only light age wear, silver with attractive natural patina, ribbon intact with gentle handling marks. A handsome and desirable early RMBI jewel.
