A striking and beautifully detailed Founder’s Jewel for Amethyst Lodge No. 1026, crafted in sterling silver with gilt highlights and rich hand-applied enamel. This jewel exemplifies the ornate and highly symbolic workmanship of early 20th-century lodge regalia.
The pale blue silk ribbon is suspended from an elegant bar bearing the word FOUNDER in white enamel. Below, the medallion features a finely modelled classical female figure in gilt, arms raised to present an amethyst-coloured stone — the emblematic jewel of the lodge. The surrounding wreath incorporates twin enamel scrolls and the lodge name:
AMETHYST LODGE No. 1026
The reverse shows the original fittings, along with full London sterling hallmarks and a clear maker’s stamp, confirming authenticity and period manufacture.
Condition: Very Fine. Gilt figure crisp and expressive; enamel largely intact with only minor age touches; stone original; ribbon lightly toned but stable; silver reverse with attractive patina. A distinctive and unusual Founder’s jewel with strong visual appeal.
A scarce lodge-specific jewel with an uncommon symbolic centrepiece.
