This piece displays the high level of ornament typical of inter-war British Masonic regalia. The jewel is suspended from two ornate floral-engraved gilt bars, joined by a deep crimson ribbon—an unusual and visually appealing configuration associated with presentation or rank rather than standard membership. Below hangs the medallion, centred by an interlaced hexagram enclosing the words: WISDOM · STRENGTH · BEAUTY Surmounting the emblem is a small depiction of the Ark, symbolic of preservation, stability, and the traditions of the Mark Degree. The surrounding Latin motto reads: DEO · ARCA · FRATRIBUS · HONOR · FIDELITAS · BENEFICENTIA (“To God, to the Ark, to the Brethren — Honor, Fidelity, Benevolence”) The reverse features full British sterling hallmarks, together with the maker’s stamp, confirming authenticity and period manufacture.
