A substantial lodge jewel of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (Grand Lodge of England), comprising an ornate upper mount with blue enamel scroll ROYAL ANTEDILUVIAN ORDER OF BUFFALOES, supporting the original striped ribbon embroidered RAOB · GLE. The lower enamel scroll reads LIGHT OF THE EAST, indicating the issuing Lodge. Suspended below is an eight-pointed star medal with central roundel and laurel wreath, fully hallmarked on the reverse for London sterling silver with date letter and maker’s stamp.
Condition: Very good; ribbon with mild fraying at edges, enamel intact, silver star with attractive age patina. A fine and scarce RAOB Lodge jewel with silver insignia.
