A scarce early sterling silver and enamel steward jewel for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution, dated 1924. The shaped medallion bears the multi-coloured heraldic shield beneath a red enamelled crown, encircled by a blue enamel band inscribed ROYAL MASONIC BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION · 1924. Suspended from the original crimson ribbon with gilt and blue enamel STEWARD top bar.
Reverse struck with the maker’s mark G. KENNING & SON LONDON and full London sterling silver hallmarks for 1924.
Condition: Very good; enamel complete; minor wear to gilding and light tarnish to silver; ribbon original and slightly age-worn.
A fine early RMBI Festival jewel in silver.
