East Lancashire Masonic Benevolent Institution – Steward’s Jewel, 1925 (43.35 x 26.51 mm, 20.48 g). Maker: G. Kenning & Son, London (full London silver hallmarks & maker’s mark on reverse) Material: Sterling Silver with Enamel; Original Pale-Blue Silk Ribbon A distinguished Steward’s Jewel issued for the East Lancashire Masonic Benevolent Institution Festival of 1925, crafted in sterling silver with beautifully preserved enamel. The upper suspension bar is boldly lettered STEWARD, supporting the original pale-blue watered silk ribbon. Above is the red enamel shield of Lancashire, and surrounding the scene is the inscription: EAST LANCASHIRE MASONIC BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION The date 1925 appears on an enamel plaque at the base, highlighted by a small red Tudor rose. The reverse bears crisp London hallmarks, along with the well-regarded maker’s stamp G. Kenning & Son, London, confirming quality manufacture typical of the firm’s festival jewels of the period. Condition: Very Fine. Silver toned attractively; enamel clean and vibrant; scene sharply modelled; ribbon sound with only light age toning; reverse hallmarks clear and unpolished.
