A beautiful and uncommon Founder’s Jewel for the Lodge of the Coast No. 7518, notable for its vividly hand-painted scenic panel. The jewel is suspended from the original gilt and blue-enamel bar inscribed FOUNDER, attached to a pale-blue watered silk ribbon.
The centrepiece is an exquisite hand-painted enamel miniature depicting a coastal street scene with white tower, colourful façades and cobbled roadway—work typical of the finer lodge jewels of the early–mid 20th century. The scene is framed by ornate gilt scrollwork, with enamel banners reading:
LODGE OF THE COAST
No. 7518
The reverse retains the original period fittings and shows clear silver hallmarks along the lower edge, together with the maker’s mark C&Co, confirming London manufacture.
Condition: Very Fine to Extremely Fine. Hand-painted enamel sharp and vibrant; gilt mounts clean with light toning; ribbon original with slight age rippling; reverse with pleasing patina and fully legible marks.
