A fine early Steward’s Jewel of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons, comprising a gilt and enamel top bar inscribed C.L.M.M.M., from which is suspended a crimson ribbon edged in light blue. The circular medallion features a white keystone bearing the interlaced triangles of the Mark Degree, surrounded by a deep blue enamel ring with the Latin motto QUI DILIGIT DEUM DILIGIT FRATOREM SUUM. The reverse is engraved: G.L.M.M.M. STEWARD 1934 PRESENTED TO BRO. T. H. LETHABY With full London silver hallmarks and maker’s stamp SPENCER LONDON. Condition: Very fine; mild wear to gilding, enamel vivid and intact, ribbon slightly aged. A desirable early Mark Master Masons Steward jewel.
