Hallmarked Sterling Silver (London, 1940–41)
A distinguished and finely executed Grand Lodge of England presentation jewel, dated 1940, crafted in sterling silver with rich gilt finish and blue-and-white enamel. This jewel was formally presented on 18th July 1940, as engraved on the reverse, during the early months of the Second World War—lending it notable historical interest.
Suspended from a vibrant red and blue ribbed ribbon, the gilt top bar is engraved UNITY LODGE G.L.E.N.Z., referencing its New Zealand Masonic affiliation. The central pendant features an ornate gilt frame with a blue enamel circular band inscribed:

At the centre is a charming gilt device depicting a kangaroo, set against a white enamel shield—symbolic of overseas lodges working under the English Constitution. A small Tudor-style crown, enamelled in red and white, surmounts the medallion.
