Maker: G & S (hallmarked) Material: Gilt Metal with Blue Enamel A bold and well-executed North Wales jewel, of oval form, featuring a finely modelled gilt emblem set against a deep cobalt-blue enamel ground, framed by a textured gilt surround bearing the raised legend NORTH WALES. The jewel is suspended from a rounded ball finial with integral loop, giving a strong, balanced profile characteristic of mid-20th-century provincial and county regalia. The contrast between the luminous enamel centre and the darker gilt field provides excellent visual depth. The reverse is plain with a softly satin gilt finish and bears clear maker’s marks and hallmarks, confirming quality manufacture. Condition: Very Fine. Enamel bright and intact; gilt surfaces showing light age toning and handling wear consistent with period; suspension secure. Overall a pleasing and honest example.
