The Czechoslovak War Cross 1939–1945, instituted by the Czechoslovak government-in-exile to recognise acts of bravery and distinguished service in combat against the Axis powers.
The obverse is formed as a broad-armed cross with crossed swords between the arms, the central medallion bearing the Bohemian lion. The reverse displays the armorial shields of the historic Czechoslovak lands, surmounted by the national emblem. The suspension is via the correct tricolour ribbon, fitted with a bronze oak-leaf clasp, denoting a subsequent award or additional act of merit.
The medal retains its original suspension ring and period pin-back mounting.
Condition: Very Fine. Bronze with even patina; light surface wear consistent with age; ribbon sound with minor creasing; oak-leaf device intact and well defined. A complete and attractive example.
