Presented Jewel to Bro. J. Moffat, Success Lodge, April 16th, 1946 (34.89 x 31.39 mm, 32.18 g). Presented Masonic jewel, gilt metal, suspended from its original ribbed silk ribbon in ochre with central red stripe and grey edges, fitted with an enamelled presentation bar inscribed “PRESENTED TO BRO. J. MOFFAT”, and a second enamelled suspension bar dated “APRIL 16TH 1946 – SUCCESS LODGE”, retaining its original pin fastening. The obverse with a gilt five-pointed star jewel surmounted by a crown, bearing the interlaced letters R.A.O.B. in coloured enamel at centre, suspended beneath the presentation bars via a decorative horned motif. The reverse plain gilt, with maker’s mark “L. SIMPSON (LONDON) LTD” and additional hallmarks, fitted with its original long pin. A clearly dated mid-20th century presentation jewel, awarded to Bro. J. Moffat, retaining its original ribbon and enamelled bars, and displaying strong Masonic symbolism. Condition: Very good, with light surface wear and patina consistent with age; enamel intact; ribbon sound with minor age-related wear. Date: 16 April 1946.
