The top bar is finely cast with decorative scrollwork and bears the inscription: STEWARD 1948 Suspended below is the ornate shield-shaped medallion, featuring three finely modelled lions’ heads in relief — the heraldic device associated with the festival year. A scroll above reads R.M.B.I., while a matching scroll below is inscribed: 106th ANNUAL FESTIVAL The reverse displays the maker’s stamp SPENCER LONDON, confirming manufacture by one of the prominent regalia firms of the period.
