A Steward’s jewel for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution, comprising a ribbed crimson ribbon mounted with a black enamel bar inscribed STEWARD, the ribbon applied with a silvered lion device. Suspended below, a substantial cast and enamelled tower-form jewel bearing the initials R.M.B.I., the date 1962, and a red-and-gold heraldic shield. Reverse stamped MARPLES & BEASLEY, BIRMINGHAM, with original pin-back fitting. Condition: Very fine; minor wear to ribbon from handling, enamel bright and complete, metal surfaces clean with light age toning. A classic example of the mid-20th-century R.M.B.I. Steward festival jewel, produced by the noted regalia makers Marples & Beasley.
