Simpson Ltd., London Material: Gilt metal with multi-colour enamel; original riband A handsome and well-preserved Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes Testimonial Jewel, issued by New Belsize Lodge No. 7478 and presented on 24 April 1963 to Bro. J. Woodhouse, C.P. “as a mark of respect.” The jewel features the classic RAOB intertwined monogram in bright enamel, set within a gilt laurel wreath and surmounted by the distinctive buffalo-horn motif. The jewel is suspended from a vibrant blue, white, red, and yellow striped riband, topped with a gilt bar bearing the word TESTIMONIAL in rich blue enamel. The reverse retains the full presentation inscription along with the maker’s mark: L. SIMPSON LTD / LONDON W.C.2, and hallmarks for gilt metal manufacture of the period. Condition: Very Fine. Enamel bright and undamaged; gilt surfaces retain strong colour; riband clean with only light age shading; reverse inscription crisp; fittings original and functional. A particularly attractive and colourful RAOB testimonial piece.
