Royal Masonic Institution for Girls (R.M.I.G.) Steward’s Jewel, 1965, by J. R. Gaunt, London (39.59 mm, 21.36 g). A gilt and enamel Steward’s jewel for the 1965 Festival of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls, the gilt bar enamelled STEWARD above a white ribbed ribbon. Suspended below, a circular gilt medallion with blue enamel border inscribed ROYAL MASONIC INSTITUTION FOR GIRLS · 1965, the centre displaying a crowned shield with three passant lions on a white field, set against a radiating gilt starburst with white enamel cross motifs. Reverse impressed J. R. GAUNT, LONDON, with original pin-back fitting. Condition: Very fine; minor surface wear to gilt, enamels clean and undamaged, ribbon bright with slight handling marks. A well-preserved example of this attractive festival jewel.
