Lot # 1000 - BRONZE ROTARY KEY RING Roman period, c. 1st-4th century AD. Bronze roman key ring with a circular hollow rod from which the dentils depart, which present a sort of decoration engraved with lines and dots. Height: 22.5 mm. Inner size: 17 mm. 13.00 g. 21.50 mm. Intact and complete, with unusual decoration. Compact dark patina. It is not clear whether the engraved lines and dots could have had a practical function or were a mere decoration.

Lot # 996 - VASE HANDLE ATTACHMENT Roman period, c. 1st-3rd century AD. Terminal part of Roman bronze vase handle. Pleasant relief decoration with a young man's head. Dimensions: 62x25 mm. Weight: 30.86 g. Enchanting green patina. Wears.
Lot # 995 - MINERVA BRONZE STATUETTE Roman period, c. 1st-3rd century AD. Bronze statuette from the Roman era depicting a female figure with a high-crested helmet (Minerva?). Dimensions: 68.5 x 27.0 mm. 43.01 g. Intact, with its untouched green patina. Missing item in the right hand, otherwise complete. The attribution to Minerva depends on the presence of the helmet, however it is a very unusual representation for this divinity. The pose is typical of the offerers, as the left hand holds a long dress, while the right hand is extended, as if holding an object that is currently missing. The armour, often present in depictions of Minerva, is also missing.
Lot # 994 - ROMAN GLASS UNGUENTARIUM Roman period, 1st-2nd century AD. Elongated unguentarium with a cut everted lip, a short cylindrical neck with a slight constriction at the base, a pyriform body, a small flat bottom. Height: 81.5 mm. Intact and complete. Enchanting pale blue color.
Lot # 993 - ROMAN ENAMELLED FIBULA Roman period, c. 2nd century AD. Roman bronze fibula composed of a central oval with six circles that fit onto its circumference. Two engraved tabs branch off from the two poles of the oval. Decoration in pale blue glass paste. Dimensions: 54.5 x 19.5 mm. Intact and complete. Wears.

Lot # 987 - HELLENISTIC BRONZE WEIGHT Greek Sicily (?), c. 4th-2nd century BC. Square-shaped bronze weight with rhomboidal incuse bottom and countermark with a male head right on the flat part. Dimensions: 24 x 24 mm. Weight: 16.64 g. Rare and fascinating item. Untouched green patina. Marks in field, probably for weight adjustment.
Lot # 986 - THEATRICAL MASK ON BOWL Southern Italy (?), c. 4th-2nd century BC. Fragment of a black-glazed pottery bowl with a relief representation of a grotesque theatrical mask with a wide mouth. Dimensions: 63 x 39 mm. Interesting and rare. Paint missing on top.

Lot # 977 - THOT-BABOON FAIENCE AMULET Egyptian Kingdom, Late Period, second half on 1st millennium BC. Large amulet in blue faience, depicting Thoth in the form of a baboon with a large pectoral. Dimensions: 64 x 33 mm. Baboon amulets probably were offerings to shrines honoring Thoth, but could also have been placed with the deceased as a representative of the deity who recorded Osiris' judgment.

Lot # 974 - PHOENICIAN GLASS PASTE HEAD Punic culture, c. 5th century BC. Green and blue glass paste pendant, depicting a face with hair gathered in the back. Dimensions: 21 x 12 mm. Rare and fascinating item. Broken in the lower part. Interesting green-blue duotone, very rare for the type of object. The rendering of the hair is also peculiar, usually present on the top part of the head.

Lot # 1012 - MULTILAYER PINK GEMSTONE Roman period, c. 2nd-3rd century AD. Oval multilayer pink gem of truncated cone shape, depicting two figures; probably a cupid or a victoriola and a female figure possibly with a cornucopia. Dimensions: 10.5 x 9 mm. Chipped.

Lot # 1010 - ROMAN LEAD BIRD FIGURINE Roman period, c. 1st-3rd century AD. Roman lead figurine configured as a bird (eagle?) in flight. There are two circular holes in the underlying art, perhaps to allow mounting on a stand. Dimensions: 42x27 mm. Weight: 59.60 g.

Lot # 1007 - ROMAN BRONZE TWEEZERS Roman period, c. 1st-3rd century AD Roman bronze tweezers with suspension ring. Tweezers lenght: 52 mm.; Ring width: 21 mm. Intact, still as flexible as in antiquity and without corrosion spots. Lovely everyday item, indispensable in daily body care operations. The suspension ring suggests that it was hung in the bathroom, perhaps in association with other objects.
Lot # 1006 - ROMAN SURGICAL SPATULA Roman period, c. 1st-3rd century AD. Bronze surgical spatula with long handle and small concave head. Lenght: 101 mm. Intact and complete. Lovely dark patina with minor earthy deposits. The spatula was one of the essential tools in the Roman surgeon's kit, together with the scalpel, tweezers and other tools for extracting bone fragments.
