Lot # 1029 - CENTAUR BRONZE STATUETTE Roman period, Balkan area, c. 1st - 3rd century AD. Roman bronze statuette depicting a centaur holding a stone and what appears to be a shield. The frontal equine legs were raised so as to give the impression of attack. The pivot below the torso was intended to allow the statuette to hold itself upright. Dimensions: 47 x 70 x 38 mm. Interesting and rare item. Losses.
Lot # 1028 - BRONZE STATUETTE OF VENUS Roman period, c. 1st - 3rd century AD. Roman bronze statuette depicting a Venus standing frontally, with her hair up, her right hand extended forward and holding an apple in her left. Completing the ensemble is its hexagonal bronze base. Statuette's height: 131 mm. Base's height: 43 mm. Very fascinating item. Minor missing on right hand and faint corrosion spot on face.

The Greek inscription “ΚΑΛΑ” engraved on the bezel is a wish translatable as “good luck” or “good things,” surely intended for the young owner of the ring.
