Lotto n. 890 - BRONZE APPLIQUE Southern Germany or Austria, c. 1780-1860 Bronze applique for a leather belt or corsage. The motives of the sun and stars/flowers are characteristic for the folk art of the Alpine region. The nails on the back functioned for fixing the metal on the leather, and the loops served to hang in thin chains for additional decoration. Size: 69x28 mm. 14.93 g.
