Contemporary counterfeit, the copper core is exposed on the edge. Extremely rare and intriguing, this coin represents a hybrid using different obverse and reverse dies that usually aren't paired or a combination of legends which is not used on any official issues. A very interesting study piece. VF.

Galerius Aurelius Antoninus was the second son of Antoninus Pius and Faustina, but he had already died before his father became emperor. This coin was issued to honour the memory of the empress and her son.
